What makes it smart?
Jev, an AI model by TypeSafe, reached through Vercel's AI Gateway with your own key. It is what turns "that green messaging app" into WhatsApp. Without a key, Jevdexer is a fast name search and not much more.
Is it free?
The app is free and open source, with no account and no ads, and I make nothing from it. The AI is paid: Vercel bills your own account for what you use. Vercel's free tier does not include Jev, so you need a few dollars of Gateway credit.
How much does the AI cost?
Measured: one smart search costs about $0.00024, around 4,000 searches per dollar. Describing your installed apps once costs under a cent. At 30 smart searches a day, $5 lasts about two years. Searches that match a name exactly cost nothing.
What leaves my PC?
Without a key, nothing. With one, your search and app names go to the AI Gateway, plus folder names and short summaries if you turn on folder search. Never the files themselves.
What is Ultra Search?
An optional mode that searches inside folders you pick: documents, scans, screenshots and photos. They are read on your PC by a sandboxed reader with no internet access.
Why does Windows warn me when I install it?
The installer is not code signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. You can read every line of it on GitHub first.
